Google's Pixel 2- The Review

Fasten your seatbelts as Google launched its 2nd edition of Pixel phones this year and they look even more impressive than ever,

Dominating the Android phone market previously with its striking features and one of the best camera phones ever, new Google pixel 2 and pixel 2 XL is even better with handful amount of improvements made.                                         

Design: The design of the Google Pixel 2 and XL phone does not differ much from its ancestor. The rear end of the phone consists aluminum back and a smooth glass panel which doesn't cover the fingerprint sensor this time. The camera is at the top corner of the frame with Google's logo placed at the bottom. The panel covering the lens and flash is smooth whereas the other half of the back case is rough and won't be slipping off the table. The volume and unlock buttons are on the right side of the phone.

The front design in both models is slightly different as one is a 5-inch phone with more bezel than new phones of this generation and the other is 6-inch mobile phone consisting more of a screen.

                                                           

Specifications & Performance: Both Google Pixel 2 and XL have same specs with the latest version of Android Oreo 8.0 is integrated into the new Pixel 2 phones making it 2x times faster than before and allowing you to see multiple apps at once without force-quitting or hanging. 

Introducing the most Eye-Gazing feature of the Pixel phone which people kept buzzing about is its camera.

The 12MP rear with the f/1.8 aperture which shoots up to 4k video making it astonishing and impressive among the fellow smartphones. With 8MP at Front and f/2.4 aperture, this camera is hard to beat in a world full of camera featured phones. Never worry about your phone's storage as this phone allows you to save an unlimited amount of photos and videos that will be stored and you can have whichever you may like. The Chip in this phone is a Qualcomm® Snapdragon™ 835 and 2.3 GHz of a processor for faster and enhanced usage combined together with 4gb of ram with an option of 64gb & 128gb of storage.

The bigger Pixel 2 phone(XL) is a 3520 mAh battery and the smaller one comes in 2700 mAh not so quite impressive in the little one.

This phone comes in three different colors, Just Black, Clearly White and Kinda Blue, on the other hand, the XL comes in Just Black and Black & White.

Major Changes: Google Pixel 2 becomes water-resistant this time after some backlashes they got on the phone launched the previous year. It has IP67 water and dust-resistant technology which means it can last up to 30 minutes in 1m of depth in water.  No 3.5mm headphone jack which has been removed making the users edgy as they won't be able to connect headphones.

Pricing: Talking about the price of both, as the two phones are almost of the same hardware and features but drastically change in terms of pricing Google Pixel 2 is starting at $649 and XL starts at $849. The cost varies with the storage capacity.                                                        

Pros: Pictures and videos take up the major part of the storage on a phone and this problem is eradicated by Google Pixel 2 as you get unlimited free space for saving loads and loads of photos and videos. The camera is one of the many reasons people waited for and it didn't disappoint.

Cons: The bezels in the Pixel 2 are simply the downgrade in its competitive market leaving huge spaces at top and bottom of the screen making it more like a 2015 phone as its competitors are moving towards edge-to-edge screens.

No headphone jack feature may have upset some customers as they won't be able to connect headphones rather than Google pixel 2  Earbuds.

Final verdict: Tech news today features Google Pixel 2 as it was one of the most awaited mobile phones of the year 2017. Its camera inspires people to capture miniature events and allowing amateurs to take a professional photo. While its striking features doesn't disappoint its users either, every feature lures the customer towards buying it. This mobile phone of 2017 was a technological advancement to Google itself and to the world of Android users.
